Generate warmth for your wintertime party by making large quantities of Hot Buttered Rum. From page 55 of “You’re Invited” Appetizers and Beverages
Ingredients
  • 1 pound butter
  • 1 (16 ounce) package brown sugar
  • 1 (16 ounce package powdered sugar)
  • cinnamon to taste
  • nutmeg to taste
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream ( good quality), softened slightly
  • Rum
  • boiling water
  • 1 pint heavy cream, whipped with 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
  1. Cream butter, brown sugar, powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg until fluffy.
  2. Fold in ice cream.
  3. Freeze until ready to use, up to 6 months.
  4. Place 3 tablespoons of mixture in a mug with 1 jigger of Rum.
  5. Fill with boiling water.
  6. Top with whipped cream.
  7. Yield: 24 servings
